Diabetes & Oncology trade mission to India

Calling the most innovative healthcare companies to participate in Department for International Trade’s Diabetes and Oncology events in India this year.

India is the diabetes capital of the world with 60 million people suffering from type-2 diabetes. The number of diabetics in the country is estimated to grow by 58%, from 51 million people in 2010 to 87 million in 2030(World Health Organization fact sheet on diabetes 2016).

India can also expect to see 1.45 million new cases of cancer in 2016 rising to 1.73 million new cases by 2020 (National Cancer Registry). Oral, breast, lung, cervical cancers are among the leading causes of deaths in India. India requires new technology in every aspect of this disease be it prediction through genetics, early detection, new treatment protocols and medical equipment.
