We are delighted to invite you to the first of a series of events in North Wales focused on the ecosystem and tools for leveraging Big Data. This unique set of events takes registered delegates on a journey of discovery, from learning about Big Data and how businesses can work with it, right through to actually analysing their own data in workshops that will include practical support, expertise and access to the tools to get started. This event series is being run in collaboration with Conwy Council, Ultranyx Ltd, Butterfly Projects Ltd, and Living Data Ltd, all of which have expertise in harnessing Big Data for commercial value.

The first event, which is open to all and free to attend, consists of presentations focused on the technology landscape, business value cases for Big Data and Analytics, a networking lunch and a panel discussion. Attendees will benefit from an overview of Big Data and insights into how they can work with the ever growing volume of data to extract useful information. Data processing, high performance tools to complete data analytics and the methods for analysing data outputs will all be discussed.

Follow-on events within this series are scheduled for later in the year. These sessions will be run on a one-to-one basis with companies wishing to take their journey further by running Big Data projects. Attendees will have the opportunity to bring along their data, work with a Big Data team to explore the most suitable analytical tools, learn how to upload data onto Wales’ National Supercomputer and start processing it to generate valuable insights. Further support will be made available for setting up bespoke Big Data projects and where required, developing an in-house Big Data platform.
