Launch of ‘Think about Me’: Good Care Guide

“Think About Me”: Good Care Guide is a local web based feedback system where residents and relatives can rate and review care homes.

This development has been driven by relatives of older people already living in care homes. They believe that at a time when people have to make a difficult decision about choosing a care home, they should be able to see ‘real time’ feedback from people living there (or their relatives) to help them make a choice. It’s hoped that by sharing views about care providers – from the quality of care and staff to the facilities, surroundings and of course value for money – it will help people find and choose the right care for their family.

“Think About Me”: Good Care Guide invites residents and relatives to share their experiences with other families looking for local care homes to help them make a much more informed decision.

There is a specific need for feedback from residents and family of those living in care, residential or nursing homes. Currently when older people need to make a very difficult decision there is an absence of ‘real time’ information about care homes. Working with the Good Care Guide we are launching a pilot of “Think About Me” which will allow people to find, rate and review elderlycare in Gwent.
