Latin America offers a massive growth opportunity to UK exporters. Countries across the region are increasing healthcare expenditure and investment significantly.

In Brazil alone, Government healthcare spending is forecast to grow to US$244bn in 2018, up from US$204bn today.

The market is also heavily reliant on imported medical devices which have recorded a yearly growth of 11.4% since 20082 – creating an attractive environment for exporters.

Similar trends can be seen across Latin America:

Mexico – one of the fastest growing healthcare markets in the world with 13.4% annual growth forecast – increasing the market to US$6.9bn in 2018 3.

Chile – planning a large public hospital modernisation project backed up by medical device imports which grew by 31.15% in 20134.

Colombia – over US$1bn of medical devices imported annually.

As the largest healthcare exhibition in the continent Hospitalar is an ideal place to meet distributors, end-users and agents from across South America and take advantage of the huge growth potential in the region.
