Join us for an evening of interesting talks on the use of engineering & technology in the healthcare sector. Two talks from local companies at the cutting edge of healthcare technologies will be presented:

Nick Sleep – CTO, MedaPhor
MedaPhor is a global provider of advanced ultrasound education and training for medical professionals. Based in Cardiff in the UK and San Diego in the USA, their aim is to build a world class ultrasound training company that has educational excellence as its core guiding principle. Their products range from the very latest in advanced virtual-reality simulation training to hands-on postgraduate courses. Chief Technology Officer Nick Sleep will give an overview of the company’s technical work in the healthcare sector and explain the challenges they have overcome in taking academic healthcare related intellectual property and converting this into a company with international sales.

Tracy Wotherspoon – Senior Electronic Design Engineer, MicroSemi Semiconductor Ltd
Microsemi Corporation offers a comprehensive portfolio of semiconductor and system solutions for communications, defense & security, aerospace and industrial markets. Microsemi is headquartered in Aliso Viejo, Calif., and has approximately 3,000 employees globally. In this presentation, Senior Electronic Design Engineer Tracy Wotherspoon will outline the work being performed by MicroSemi in the UK healthcare industry and in particular on ‘in body wireless communications’ products.
