Medical Packaging Seminar
“Practical applications of ISO 11607 – Packaging for terminally sterilized medical devices”

Wipak, GEA Tiromat Packaging, Anecto and BillerudKorsnäs will host a medical packaging seminar on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 21st – 22nd at Williams Martini Conference Centre, Oxfordshire, Wantage.

The program is intended for professionals responsible for medical device packaging, product development, marketing, procurement, operations management and quality.

The seminar will give an insight into medical packaging standards, having a focus in practice, important aspects of medical grade films and medical papers, procedures for process qualification of packaging machine and testing for final medical device packages etc.

The conference will also allow workshop discussion around topics like the antimicrobial applications in healthcare. Silver-containing dressings and silver coated catheters are widely used to assist with management of infections. Antimicrobial furniture like reception desk, arm rests of the chairs in the waiting area, laboratory desks, sinks, toilet arm rests, toilet tables and cupboard and drawer handles are already in use in some healthcare centers. Similar antimicrobial shield can now be introduced also for sterile barrier materials to inhibit bacteria growth on the packaging surface.

Individual solutions are turning into one comprehensive environment that gives additional protection for better fighting against hospital infections.

In the Medical Packaging Seminar, Mr. Paul Morris, the founder of Addmaster will give an introductory presentation about antimicrobial additives.
