April Member of the Month: EKF Diagnostics

EKF Diagnostics is a worldwide manufacturer of point-of-care equipment for the measurement of glucose, lactate, haemoglobin, haematocrit and glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c). In March 2013 the business established a new subsidiary – EKF Molecular Diagnostics – to focus on the molecular and companion diagnostics market.

The EKF range of blood analysers are simple to use and designed to quickly deliver accurate results to aid the diagnosis and measurement of anaemia, diabetes and associated conditions. We also manufacture and sell a comprehensive range of clinical chemistry tests and offer rapid tests for pregnancy and infectious diseases.

EKF products are used in more than 100 countries by healthcare professionals in blood banks, GP surgeries, diabetes clinics, pharmacies, hospitals, sports clinics and laboratories.

EKF Diagnostics is also a worldwide leader in the manufacture and distribution of organ injury biomarkers specialising in acute injury to kidneys (AKI), liver and pancreas. EKF’s micro titre plate assay kits have particular application in assessing the safety and effectiveness of drug candidates in clinical trials.

Although a worldwide business with more than 300 employees in seven countries EKF’s headquarters are in Penarth, Cardiff. The business has been listed on the London Stock Exchange’s Alternative Investment Market since 2010.
