Broomfield & Alexander merges with Monmouth firm

Accountancy firm Broomfield & Alexander has merged with a practice in Monmouth, giving the combined business 115 staff across four offices.

Agincourt Practice will become the firm’s fourth office, after those in Swansea, Newport and Cardiff. The business will increase its services in specialist areas for  clients across the Wales and England border region.

Ten members of staff have join Broomfield & Alexander following the deal. Agincourt’s director Neil Mounter is set to retire later this year, but will continue to support existing clients during the merger phase.

Ian Thomas, managing director of Broomfield & Alexander, said: “Strategic mergers are vital to bolstering our position as Wales’ leading independent accountancy firm, allowing us to expand our specialist services to clients in Monmouth, south east Wales and those close to the border.”

Neil Mounter, director of Agincourt Practice, who joined the firm in 1978, added: “I’ll be working closely with our clients over the coming months to ensure that the transition is seamless and I have every confidence that our team will flourish under the Broomfield & Alexander brand.”

Broomfield & Alexander previously merged with Neath-based WR King & Co in October 2014 and Griffiths & Miles in April 2010.
