Partners with sensor and device development expertise sought for H2020 Personalising Health Care proposal

An Italian SME is developing a project proposal for a Personalising Health Care call and seeks partners with expertise to develop a sensor for objective data, to develop a small hand-held device to be used by patients, to evaluate the current state-of-the-art from which to launch the project, and to handle IPR issues. One partner might bring more than one of the expertise areas sought.

Description:

A group of Italian companies want to propose a pilot project to put an innovative process into operation, based on the design and implementation of a web platform with new software, to collect and catalogue clinical data (subjective and objective) of patients in controlled clinical trials, remotely, or through a DSS (decision support system) instrument, featuring both a way to capture objective data and a smart system for self-assessment and collection of subjective data.

The project will develop a small device (about the size of a TV remote control), to be used directly by patients (or their families or home care-givers). The device will be designed to transmit data directly to the platform, on which the management software will prepare the data for the physician investigator, data manager, statisticians, and any other professionals involved in monitoring the patient and authorised to use the sensitive data sent by the patient for research purposes in which patients were randomised.

The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the general objective of the call Personalising Health and Care, topic 28 (Self management of health and disease and decision support systems based on predictive computer modelling used by the patient him or herself) of H2020-PHC-2015-single-stage.

The partnership already includes SMEs with software and web development expertise, and one to perform testing, validation and transfer to clinical trial stakeholders.

Type and Role of Partner Sought:

The consortium has an Italian SME coordinator and two other Italian partners, so it seeks partners from other eligible countries. They can be enterprises or academic, with expertise in R&D for sensors and small electronic devices. Other tasks to be assigned are a survey of the current state-of-the-art, and the management of IPR issues.

Type of Partnership Considered:

– Research cooperation agreement.
