Proton Partners wins Strategic Healthcare Development Deal of the Year award

Proton Partners International has picked up the Strategic Healthcare Development Deal of the Year award in Acquisition International’s 2016 Deal of the Year Awards.

The 2016 Deal of the Year awards celebrates all those deserving firms and individuals who stand out as the leading players across the globe, who are raising the bar by their sheer amount of dedication and passion for deal making.

Receiving the award, Mike Moran, chief executive of Proton Partners said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive this award – what a great way to mark the end of such a successful year for Proton Partners.

“Over the past two years we have been working exceptionally hard to secure the backing and support of investors to ensure that proton beam therapy becomes a reality in the UK.

“We have plans to build 7 UK centres and up to 5 international centres which will make Proton Partners the world’s largest operator of proton beam therapy. Currently we have two UK centres, in Newport and Northumberland, under construction, and a third in Reading is due to begin soon.”

Jonathan Hicks, coordinator the 2016 Deal of the Year awards, commented: “There is still a healthy level of activity in certain sectors and regions despite ongoing geo-political situations, circumstances which have created some uncertainty in deals across the globe but have done little to quell the large transactions that occurred in the first half of 2016. The professionals who work diligently to ensure that their client’s deal go to plan have been vital in producing this state of affairs, and as such it is a real honour to be able to showcase their hard work and commitment. I would just like to congratulate them on their success and wish them the very best of luck going forward.”
