Quay Pharma’s New Manufacturing Suite in Deeside
At the beginning of 2014 Quay Pharma revealed plans to invest £3 million to build a new 6 room manufacturing suite at its site in Deeside. The target date for completion of the fully validated MHRA approved facility is the end of December 2014. Work is progressing well.
The new manufacturing suite will include increased granulation, tableting and coating capability as well as increased bulk liquid manufacturing capacity. This investment allows Quay Pharma to increase capacity for both current and future clients and improve its ability to support phase II clinical trials.
Quay Pharma has involved the MHRA in its plans from the beginning of the project and has an inspection planned in November. Post inspection Quay Pharma hopes to have approval for the new GMP area so that manufacturing can start in January 2015. Quay Pharma will keep its current manufacturing site at Bromborough operational for an interim period.
