UK Water Treatment company diversifies into Life Sciences sector
It’s not every day that a provider of traditional water treatment chemicals and services designs and builds a plant to produce a Class 3 medical device; obtains ISO 13485 and collaborates with a pharmaceutical company to pilot and market a woundcare product. Yet, that is exactly what Water Conditioning Services UK, part of SUEZ environnement (formerly known as B & V Group) have done.
Using the same technology that is used to kill pathogens in water systems, the organisation’s research and development team based in Daventry, Northamptonshire successfully developed a large scale process to manufacture a wound-care product, now marketed by Martindale Pharma as Woundox Irrigation Solution.
The journey to develop, manufacture and bring the product to market has been an exciting one and has secured the organisation a prestigious Medilink East Midlands Award for “Collaboration with the NHS”. This year, Water Conditioning Services UK also received the exciting news that we have this year been shortlisted for a Medilink UK Award of the same name.
