MediWales

Type of organisation: Professional Services & Suppliers

MediWales is the life science network and representative body for Wales. MediWales provides advice, support, business opportunities and promotes collaborations for the life science and health technology community in Wales.

With over 150 members, our network is largely made up of life science organisations, pharmaceutical services and medical technology companies. We actively encourage engagement with the clinical research community and our membership includes NHS Health Boards and Universities. We are an independent, not-for-profit limited company.

Facilitating access to global trade opportunities, engaging with Government to align support with sector needs, and improving access to vital clinical expertise and facilities are key roles of MediWales. We recognise and celebrate our members’ successes and promote the strengths of the sector within Wales and beyond.

We support our community with one to one advice on market access, international trade, finance and funding, supply chain and identifying collaborative partners. We run a popular events programme with topics including regulatory updates, NHS procurement, finance and funding, clinical unmet needs, medical technology, and organise special interest groups in the areas of clinical trials, diagnostics and wound healing.

A landmark event in our programme is the annual UK HealthTech conference, attracting an international audience and key delegates from across the life science sector. Growing yearly, the conference is very successful and moves from strength to strength.

We have a number of publications including UK Lifescience Industry magazine, which has a distribution of 40,000 across the UK and at international events. Each of our members features in our Annual Directory and Review, and our newest publication is LifeStories, a case study magazine celebrating our members, their successes and collaborations.
