Sir William Castell (Bill), Chairman of the Wellcome Trust, was awarded the UK BioIndustry Association (BIA) Lifetime Achievement Award at the start of 2015 – an award which recognises the outstanding contribution and achievement an individual has made to the sector. To mark this occasion, Bill will be joining us this year as the guest speaker at the BIA Annual Lecture taking place on 4 June in central London.
Bill, a strong proponent of business, is internationally renowned for his contribution to the life science sector. Prior to taking up this appointment at the Wellcome Trust, Bill was President and Chief Executive Officer of GE Healthcare, of which he was also a Vice Chairman. He retired as a Director of GE in 2011. He served for six years as a Director and latterly Senior Independent Director of BP before retiring in 2012.
The lecture will provide delegates the opportunity to hear first hand from one of the UKs most successful life science leaders of the last 20 years and hear his perspective on the developments in the sector throughout his prestigious career and his thoughts on a path to success.
The BIA Annual Lecture will bring together the life science sector for a celebratory evening of excellence and an outstanding networking opportunity for all.
