Cancer Innovation Challenge

28.11.2019 - 29.11.2019

The Wales Cancer Innovation Challenge is taking place on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 November 2019 at Cardiff Metropolitan University – Cyncoed Campus, Cardiff.  This two day innovation marathon will provide health and care professionals from across Wales with the opportunity pitch solutions to real-life delivery issues to a wide range of industry partners from health technology, biotech and digital.

Staff working in cancer services are invited to submit applications, and shortlisted ideas will be invited to the two-day event in November.

Application details will be available via www.lshubwales.com/events on Friday 4 October 2019.

The Wales Cancer Innovation Challenge is a new initiative led by the Welsh Cancer Network, The Cancer Implantation Group and the Life Sciences Hub Wales.

We are excited that this first ever event of its kind is sponsored by Welsh Government and the Cancer Implementation Group for Wales. Please book here.

We were overwhelmed with submissions of ideas and issues from our Cancer professionals, right across Wales.

Our expert judging panel had the unenviable task of shortlisting , but we’ve done it!

We have fourteen excellent submissions to put to you to encourage and enable you to help us drive innovation through cancer in Wales. The shortlisted topics include:

Patient Report Outcome Measures for cancer
Cancer Awareness Campaigns
AI and deep earning

Digital interfaces for imaging
Cancer trial matching
Digital app support for Haematology

Frailty and cancer
Point of Care testing/Care closer to home
Patient tracking
Treatment summaries
VR training for Sepsis
