CITER Research Committee: Natural Compound Research for Tissue Repair and Regeneration in Wales

14.11.2018 @ 9:00 am - 6:00 pm

Exploiting Mother Nature’s Pharmacy for Anti-Microbials, Anti-Inflammatories & Mediators of Healing

Wales is currently a hotbed of research into the development of novel natural compounds to treat a wide variety of illnesses. Whereas some of these plants originate overseas, others are indigenous to Wales and the UK. The aim of this one-day workshop is to showcase some of the cutting-edge research projects ongoing across Wales, with a general focus on antimicrobials, anti-inflammatories and tissue repair/regeneration.

The workshop is led by Dr Ryan Moseley and Dr Charles Heard of Cardiff Institute of Tissue Engineering and Repair (CITER), but the event is also open to memberships of Life Sciences Research Network (NRN) and MediWales.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:

  • Dr Tom Prescott, Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew
  • Mr Kevin Stephens, Agroceutical Products Ltd

Entry is free of charge to CITER members (academics, MSc students, PhD students, post-doctorate / research associates).
