Probiotics and the Gut Microbiome.

As part of a two part special interest group initiative, Farm to Fork, with our sister SIG, Food Supplements. We are looking at the nutrition perspective of microbiology, namely probiotics and why a healthy gut is important. Micro-organisms are integral to our health and wellbeing. In these two networking meetings we shall be exploring how the role of micro-organisms both good and bad are pivotal to our continued health.

3 April – The Infectious Disease SIG will explore the links between food production and antibiotic resistance in the environment and the impact this can have on health.

7 March – This event will look at the impact of the microbiome, influence of probiotics (what they are and how they are regulated) and how to innovate in this area. Click here for further details.
