There has never been a time where opportunities have been greater to transform healthcare than today. At the same time the complexity of diseases and treatments is increasing challenges to the safety of care in hospital.

We are inviting to a two-day symposium with passionate contributors from patient safety experts, industry specialists and those affected.

We will explore challenges to delivery of safe care around key topics: Latest technologies – curse or cure, Artificial Intelligence – invading privacy, co-production beyond fashion, risk of care at home vs care in hospital; caring about health vs caring about the planet.

The symposium will be hosted at Bangor University but with a strong emphasis on engaging experts AND ed-users.

The BASE camp brings together Business, Art & Design, Safety Science and End Users in a unique get-together. As any camp we are hoping for exciting journeys & sights and will not shy away from challenging circumstances.

We are inviting an international expert faculty with backgrounds in patient safety, human factors, technology & implementation science. Sessions will consist of TED style talks followed by a conversation with a professional host that will include questions and comments from the audience. The  event will be live streamed.

The symposium will be complemented by a small number of workshops on specific techniques and technologies that underpin current thinking on patient safety. This is an opportunity for corporate partners to showcase their commitment to safety and their unique expertise in this field.

The event will capture the broader context of patient journeys in an increasingly complex healthcare systems and the opportunities that technology offers to patients, healthcare professionals and policy makers.
