Cardiff University – Systems Immunity URI
The Systems Immunity University Research Institute at Cardiff University, established in 2015, with 40 members across 5 Schools. The Research Institute employs experimental, clinical and systems-based approaches and arose from the world-leading expertise assembled at Cardiff in infection, inflammation and immunity.
The work of the interdisciplinary teams of scientists and clinicians within the URI, addresses a number of the global healthcare challenges of the 21st century including: chronic inflammatory disease, neuro-degeneration, diabetes and antibiotic resistant infections.
Based at the University Hospital of Wales, the URI also benefits from collaboration with our academic, clinical and industrial partners across the globe; offering access to disease models, data-systems, patient cohorts and tissue-banks. The research of the URI informs the discovery, design and delivery of novel diagnostic systems and state of the art therapies.
