Sony UK Technology Centre, based in Pencoed, South Wales is a division of Sony Europe B.V. and the only electronics manufacturing site for the brand in the UK.

The heart of today’s operations at Pencoed is centred on the manufacture of broadcast and professional cameras and camera systems for worldwide markets, as well as a highly successful Contract Electronics Manufacturing Service. With over 45 years of experience, the facility has developed a reputation for manufacturing excellence, which has been recognised through the receipt of multiple awards, including the prestigious Factory of the Year award at the 2013 Best Factory Awards (BFA) and most recently the 2021 National Make UK awards for Innovation and Developing Future Talent. The centre includes a class 10,000 clean room facility and bespoke, state-of-the-art manufacturing technology.

Our unique Contract Electronics Manufacturing solutions offering has produced a wide range of commercial successes across various industries, including medical, for both locally based and international clients. Our commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and automation makes us highly competitive, and has resulted in successful reshoring stories, including the production of over 40 million Raspberry Pi computers to date.

The Pencoed facility also houses a Sony Customer Service Centre, and a Business Incubation Centre with medium and small companies from related industries.
