The redeveloped Dewi Sant Health Park will bring together a range of health and social services under one roof. Including GP surgery, dentistry, mental health and substance misuse services and a newly refurbished diagnostic radiology suite.

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board was awarded £1.5 million for the first phase of the project in November 2016. The second and final phase is expected to be completed by Summer 2021.

Mr Gething said:

I am delighted to be able to award this money to deliver a modern, integrated health and social care park in Pontypridd. In line with our vision, set-out in A Healthier Wales this investment will bring together primary and secondary care services under one roof, and provide care for people closer to home.

The Welsh Government is committed to investing in our hospitals and health centres. In our draft budget for 2020-21, published last week, we announced a further £36 million in capital investment for health and social services.

We’re so pleased to be able to continue the fantastic work at Dewi Sant. The first phase of the development has enabled us to provide more care for patients, closer to their homes and work with local authority and third sector partners to ensure we provide people with the best possible standard of care and support.

This ongoing work will ensure that there are better links between all our services so that patients are seen quickly by the appropriate specialists and team and treatment can be delivered in the best place for the patient and at the right time.
