Award-Winning Entrepreneur Backs Tenovus Cancer Care’s ‘Go Pink’ Campaign
Leading Welsh businesswoman Lisa Marie Brown is calling on people to join her pink tribe and ‘Go Pink’ in support of Tenovus Cancer Care this Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The award-winning entrepreneur behind Pinkspiration, a unique enterprise aimed at inspiring young people and women into the construction industry and business, has become an official ambassador for Tenovus Cancer Care’s Go Pink and ‘support your sisters’ campaign.
She launched the Go Pink campaign at her Pinkspiration Beach Club in Cardiff Bay, a five-day event with business experts, networking, supercars, celebrities, DJs, dancers, and fitness classes.
Joining her to launch the campaign were breast cancer patient Gemma Williams, Tenovus Cancer Care-funded PhD student Rochelle Ahmed and a number of young people she has helped through her Pinkspiration enterprise.
Lisa Marie Brown, who was the first person in the UK to own a pink Maserarti, said:
“I’m delighted to get involved with the ‘Go Pink’ campaign with Tenovus Cancer Care.
“It is a great cause and I am thrilled to be involved as an ambassador to support this fantastic charity. Everyone should get behind us and turn Wales pink this Breast Cancer Awareness Month.”
Tenovus Cancer Care is asking supporters to Go Pink on Friday 18th October, or any time during the month of October, and raise money to fund vital research and support for cancer patients.
Mhairi Jones, Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign manager for Tenovus Cancer Care, commented:
“The reality is that one in seven women in the UK will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
“Tenovus Cancer Care has been funding breast cancer research for more than 50 years and developed the use of Tamoxifen, the most widely used breast cancer drug in the world.
“But there’s still a long way to go and that’s why it’s important to use Breast Cancer Awareness Month to improve the public’s knowledge about the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, and to raise money to help us support those with a diagnosis, and their families.
“We are very grateful to Lisa Marie Brown for becoming an ambassador, she is a true inspiration and with her help we’d love to make this our most successful Go Pink campaign ever.”
