Brand-new Health and Care Research Wales prize awards launched
Health and Care Research Wales has launched a brand-new set of prize awards to celebrate the achievements of the research community in Wales over the past 12 months.
Two new categories have been introduced to this year’s annual awards, alongside our successful Public Involvement Award, which we’ve marked for the last four years.
Could you be a Health and Care Research Wales Awards 2021 winner?
- Impact Award – can you demonstrate how your health or social care research is making a difference to people’s lives?
- Rising Research Star Award – are you in the early stage of your health or social care research career? Are you making significant contributions to your field? Are you developing as an emerging leader of the future?
- Public Involvement Award – have you involved members of the public in your health or social care research in a meaningful and innovative way? Can you measure up against the UK Standards for Public Involvement?
A panel of judges will decide the winner of each category and the results will be announced at the Health and Care Research Wales conference on 14 October.
The winner of each category will receive a £250 bursary to attend a training course, conference, workshop or similar event to develop an area of their research skillset.
Professor Kieran Walshe, Director of Health and Care Research Wales, said:
“The research community in Wales has achieved so much over the last 12 months in very challenging times, so this is a great opportunity to recognise those involved and to show how their work is making a difference right now and how it will continue to have an impact in the future.
“The theme of this year’s conference is learning and looking forward and I very much hope award entries reflect that. After the success of last year’s event, we will again be hosting an entirely digital day. I look forward to welcoming you all and sharing in your achievements.”
