Fully funded scholarships available for NHS Wales employees to advance Value-Based Health and Care understanding

Swansea University has newly launched the Value-Based Health and Care Academy, a hub for world-leading VBHC educational programmes, innovative research and bespoke consultancy services. It is designed to support the successful adoption of VBHC across organisations from Health Systems and Social Care to the Third Sector and the Life-Science Industries.

Outlined within A Healthier Wales, the long term plan for Health and Social Care in Wales, the programme is designed to enhance leadership and development within the Health and Social Care workforce.

As part of this programme, we are able to offer several full fee scholarships to professional learners from across Wales working within NHS Wales, Social Care Organisations in Wales and Third Sector organisations in Wales.

Open to leaders and aspiring leaders from health, social care, life sciences and third sectors, you will gain an invaluable experience exploring VBHC with peers across all sectors; sharing diverse experiences and perspectives- all essential in the successful adoption of VBHC.

You will explore topics including:

  • Implementing and using value measurement, outcomes, and cost
  • Translating theory into practice
  • Creating a culture of value
  • Refining your VBHC strategy
  • Industry working as part of a VBHC system

These courses further strengthen a growing collaboration between Wales’ Academia institutions, the national programme and NHS Wales organisations, evidenced  by an existing educational package offered by the NHS Wales Finance Academy.

To support the successful adoption of VBHC, a number of fully funded WG ILA scholarships are available to those working within NHS Wales and wanting to study a DBA, Master’s or short, intensive VBHC course.  For more information about the Executive Education provision at the School of Management please visit:  https://www.swansea.ac.uk/som/vbhc-academy/vbhc-execed/ Alternatively, contact the VBHC Academy directly on VBHCAcademy@swansea.ac.uk
