Huntleigh wins iF Design Award

Huntleigh has won the coveted iF design award for its range of Digital Hand Held Dopplers, which are used in both Vascular Assessment and Obstetric applications. The iF design award identifies where state of the art design combines with the highest levels of quality and performance.

The iF design award has grown to become one of the most prestigious design competitions in the world since it was established in 1953. Judged by a panel of over 60 renowned experts in design, industry and architecture, Getinge’s range of Digital Dopplers has now been recognised for its aesthetic design and innovation.

The Vascular Doppler is used in the assessment of blood flow in people with Peripheral Arterial Disease and other vascular disorders. While the Obstetric Doppler displays Fetal Heart Rate (FHR) in ’big numbers’ which is easy to see for a midwife or obstetric nurse in a busy environment.

“Features we have introduced; such as a high resolution colour display, represents a first for handheld Dopplers. This allows clinicians to clearly see vascular waveforms as well as hear digital audio sounds. In the FHR version the data is displayed in high visibility large numbers and recorded digitally as a waveform for archiving and review”, says Peter Cashin, Managing Director.

As the global roll-out of this product continues, the iF logo will be used on promotional material and packaging. Sales are already strong in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia, and the plan is to launch in the US and Japan later this year.

The iF design award identifies where state of the art design combines with the highest levels of quality and performance. Designed to perform when you need it most, our new Dopplers offer reliability that clinicians can depend on, making their jobs easier, safer and more efficient. The innovative features in the product also help clinicians to make quicker and more accurate assessments providing benefits to both user and patient.

“The iF logo has become an internationally acknowledged symbol, and we are of course delighted to have won and to be both associated with iF and recognised as a winner in a competitive field”, says Darren Meilak, Marketing Manager.
