Innovate UK to run Launchpad competition in Wales

Competition now open!
First stage of competition closes on 10th December

Innovate UK (formerly the Technology Strategy Board) recently announced their intention to run a Launchpad competition in Wales.

Launchpad’s provide funding for business innovation that aims to support the development and strengthening of clusters of small and medium sized high-tech companies in specific theme areas and geographical locations.

The Launchpad proposal for Wales will develop our existing Med Tech cluster along the M4 corridor from South East to West Wales, however this does not exclude companies in other parts of Wales (or indeed companies outside of Wales wanting to relocate here) collaborating with companies in the cluster. Med Tech encompasses a broad  cross section of industry, e.g.  software development And with this in mind, its important that we target many companies as this offers an exciting opportunity to grow the cluster.

Welsh Government’s role will be to develop a package of support for the companies that apply for the competition. A series of events will be held, including an upcoming surgery at the Life Science Hub to discuss the competition.
