Senior Project Manager – Clinical

Job role:

The job holder will report into the Head of Project Management and Customer Services. There is also a potential for this position to manage a small internal team. The main purpose of the role is to work within a matrix management structure ensuring project teams and support functions provide high quality customer service.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • To initiate/set up and co-ordinate clinical trials and multifunctional projects on behalf of Clients. Includes project Initiation meetings, building project plans, setting up Master Files and purchasing of materials.
  • To co-ordinate and host Client on site meetings/audits, teleconferences etc.
  • To ensure project operational handovers occur for operational activities and tasks within the operational groups, including preparation of project plans, participation of the operational groups in project start-up meetings and participation in scheduling meetings. To give Project guidance to the project teams and other employees as necessary

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Life science degree or equivalent, and/or 2 years experience in a pharmaceutical or life science project management function.
  • Good knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, specifically clinical trials, drug development process, ability to understand and communicate technical/scientific information. You will have excellent written/verbal communications skills and exceptional presentation skills.

Program Manager

GE Healthcare’s Life Sciences business delivers breakthroughs in tools for drug discovery and biopharmaceutical manufacturing and the latest in cellular technologies, enabling scientists and specialists around the world to discover new and better ways to predict, diagnose and treat disease earlier. The Life Sciences business also makes systems and equipment for the purification of biopharmaceuticals.

Role Summary/Purpose:

We are in the process of creating a team focussed on delivery of Cell Therapy applications / product tools, which presents a unique opportunity to join our dedicated, motivated and innovative R&D group in Cardiff, UK. The team will be involved in the transfer of projects from one facility to another, the transition of projects from research to development and product launches as well as managing post launch activities such as customer issues and support.

Essential Responsibilities:

You will actively participate in all aspects of our development projects in activities that include:

  • Driving effective communication across businesses and functions
  • Driving product planning and multi-generational product/platform roadmap execution
  • Working with the Business Team and program leadership team to deliver quality products on time, within budget and with competitive features
  • Cross-functional project execution leadership including (but not limited to) concept discussion, program execution, clinical and pilot trials, and product field delivery
  • Working with customers to solicit product feedback and leading cross-functional teams to drive customer support
  • Defining and prioritizing the program objectives, critical success factors and deliverables for the team.
  • Motivating the team and driving a sense of urgency on meeting program commitments.

Qualifications/Requirements:

We are looking for candidates with pevious productive experience, with BSc or equivalent within an appropriate Life Science subject and experience of Project Leadership experience, preferably with formal Project Management qualification. Experience relating to cell applications, sterile tissue/cell culture/processing would be an advantage. Experience of working within a large-scale industrial environment; CRO or clinical setting with working knowledge of Medical Device 13485 Quality Systems Management/medical device experience would also be beneficial.
