MedaPhor and Flexicare present to Lord Darzi at Arab Health

Two Welsh companies, Flexicare and MediWales member, MedaPhor, were chosen to be part of Lord Darzi’s exhibition tour at the 2011 Arab Health exhibition in Dubai in January.

Both companies were showcasing innovations that were considered highly innovative on an international scale and representative of the quality products and services produced within Wales.

MedaPhor, who won MediWales’ Innovation award in 2010, talked with Lord Darzi about their ScanTrainer – a unique ultrasound simulator that provides realistic touch enabled training experience. Sonography trainees can ‘feel’ what they see on the computer screen in order to develop the complex mix of cognitive skills and eye-hand movement coordination without the need for an ultrasound machine, a patient, or direct supervision by an expert.
