MediWales is running its 8th Innovation Awards competition and celebratory dinner on Tuesday 10th December 2013 at The National Museum, Cardiff.

The Innovation Awards are a chance to celebrate the successes and advances of life science companies and the NHS in Wales.

Winners will be awarded in each of the five industry categories:

 

  • Innovation– For the development of an innovative technology, design and/or process that has produced a major improvement in business performance, end user and / or patient benefit.

 

  • Export Achievement– For maximising opportunities to exploit and develop new market and/or outstanding performance in other areas of international trade. Applicants should be able to demonstrate overseas earnings and commercial success, to levels that are outstanding for the goods or services concerned and for the size of the applicant’s operations.

 

  • Start-Up– For newly established companies in the healthcare sector that can demonstrate the potential for a promising future. Applicants must have been trading for no longer than 3 years.


  • Outstanding Achievement– For consistent, sustainable and profitable growth in the sector. Applicants should demonstrate improvement in business performance and commercial success to levels that are outstanding for the size of the applicant’s operations.


  • Partnership with the NHS/ Academia– For collaboration with the NHS and/or academia that has/will have major impact/benefit. Applicants should demonstrate how the partnership has improved their business performance and how it has benefited patient care.

 

Winners from these categories will be put forward for the national Medilink UK awards.
