Middle East trade boosts water treatment company

Northampton-based B&V Group has won new business worth about £250,000 in the Middle East.
The company will help to treat water and provide disinfectants in hospitals in the United Arab Emirates.
This news comes during UK Trade & Investment’s (UKTI) Export Week, which includes a focus on Middle East trading.
The water treatment and wound-care technology manufacturer secured the contract in the Middle East healthcare and leisure industry after support from international trade advisers at UKTI.
Richard Sinden, head of life science at the B&V Group, said: “Exports make up around 15 per cent of our annual profit and we are always looking to further grow the business overseas, either via exports or joint ventures or licencing.
“My advice for others trying to trade in the Middle East is to start off by speaking to UKTI who can help when getting to know a market as research is always vital.”
Stephane Lambotte, international trade adviser for UKTI in the East Midlands, added the agency wanted companies to follow B&V’s lead and look to exports as a key to unlocking growth.
Jo Lappin, chief executive of Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership, said: “It’s really positive to see so many businesses within Northamptonshire successfully exporting their goods and services to international markets.
“UKTI is central to this success and we are working closely with them to help more companies than ever in Northamptonshire to export.”
