Proton Partners Hails “Momentus” Year

Proton Partners has reported quarter-on-quarter revenue growth in its maiden results since going public.

The company floated on the NEX Exchange Growth Market in February with a market capitalisation of about £344m.

In the year to 28 February 2019, Proton Partners reported revenues of £1.5m and an equity inflow of £47.6m.

During the period it also treated the first patients using its high energy proton beam therapy and three cancer centres are now operational. NHS Wales is also referring patients to Proton Partners’ South Wales centre.

Losses before tax were £21.5m due to a hike in expenses.

Rupert Lowe, chairman of Proton Partners International, said: “The last year has been a momentous one for cancer patients in the UK and it is extremely gratifying so see patients now being offered the highest quality of advanced treatment rather than having to travel abroad.

“As someone who had to go overseas for proton beam therapy treatment, delivering the construction of our Rutherford centres has been a major achievement with management now fully focused on providing excellent treatment to an increasing number of patients who will benefit from proton beam technology and other advanced cancer treatments.”
