UK HealthTech 2014 is almost here

The UK HealthTech Conference is set to open its doors for a third time on 4th December at the St David’s Hotel and Spa, Cardiff. MediWales is delivering this popular event and with 250 professionals, clinicians and industry specialists, from around the world, already registered attendance is up by 25% on last year’s figures. Continued support from Health Research Wales allows all NHS staff to attend the day for free.
UK HealthTech is a uniquely collaborative event, made possible through close relationships with UK partners and the day will provide delegates with the essential annual sector briefing for the UK Health Technology community and will span the areas of medical devices, diagnostics and pharmaceuticals. This year’s conference has two essential streams- medical technology and pharmaceutical development- and will play host to the launch of Clinical Trials Services Wales which will offer delivery of a complete and streamlined service. The impact of regulatory change will be the key theme covering both streams and John Wilkinson OBE, Director of the MHRA is leading on this regulatory update.
Keynote speakers include Peter Ellingworth, Chief Executive, ABHI who will provide an update on the med tech sector and Ian Barnes, Specialist Advisor to the Chief Scientific Officer, NHS England who will discuss the latest innovative diagnostics in healthcare. Seminars and plenary sessions will provide a thorough understanding of key areas such as the security of the supply chain and UK procurement, regenerative medicine, engaging with the NHS, funding and finance and international trade.
With 38 exhibitors, visitors from over 20 countries, and over 50 partnering meetings already arranged, with support from the Enterprise Europe Network, this year’s conference will surely offer something for everybody.
