Water-borne Infections in Healthcare Training

Water-borne infections can be fatal. Are you doing enough to control the risk?

The prevention of health risks associated with water-borne bacteria is a constant concern for buildings open to the public, particularly healthcare facilities. Some of the most susceptible individuals are in hospitals, care homes and other healthcare premises and it is imperative that they are protected from potentially fatal bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Legionella.

The B & V Training Academy are proud to be the first training provider in the UK to offer a formal, nationally (Ofqual) Level 2 accredited qualification in “The Control of Water-borne Infections within Healthcare”. This one day course is aimed at those staff involved in the management and safe operation of building water supplies within hospitals and healthcare environments. This includes operators and technicians as well as staff responsible for infection control. This course covers key legislation, including the HSE’s Approved Code of Practice (L8) and the Department of Health’s HTM04-01 and Addendum.
